How are you coping in these unbelievably stressful times? Are you able to keep your head above water? Or are you sinking below the surface -- perhaps drinking, eating, or smoking more to avoid your feelings? The energy on the planet has become extremely intense. If you are having a hard time keeping up, you are not alone.

Many of us do our best to be conscious as we move through life. That is, we try to be present and aware of what’s going on within and around us. We attempt to feel our feelings and be in touch with our intuition. We strive to be where we need to be for our highest good, at any given moment.

Yet, in attempting to be fully aware, it’s easy to feel totally slammed by the enormous amount of negative energy that has manifested on our planet. And as we feel overloaded and overwhelmed, old programming can surface and say, “Get me out of here, I can’t take it anymore.”

This may not be our conscious desire, but as these thoughts and feelings surface from deep within the subconscious, it’s easy to “run with” and energize them. When this happens, we send a subconscious message to our body to “pack up and go home,” and the body starts shutting down in various ways. Unless we really want to leave, something needs to change.

First, notice where you focus your energy.. Are you sitting around and bemoaning how bad things have become for you? Are you constantly complaining about how sick and tired you are of the challenges you face in your life? Are you fearful about what’s happening? Do you worry about your future or your health?

Since we create our reality with our thoughts, attitudes, and beliefs, whatever we focus on will increasingly manifest in our lives. This doesn’t mean we should go into denial about what we’re feeling or what’s going on inside of us. It just means we don’t need to continue to energize negative thoughts and feelings once we become aware that we are doing so. We have a choice.

The subconscious mind plays an important role. Even if you think positive thoughts all day long, you must still be willing to explore what is going on within you at a subconscious level. You do this by taking responsibility for all that you experience. If you blame others for what you feel, you miss the growth opportunities inherent in your circumstances. It’s important to understand that whatever you attract, no matter how “bad” or uncomfortable it is, your Higher Self steered you to that place at this time so that you could learn and grow.

As you begin to understand this concept and apply it to your daily life, you will start to create an “oasis” amidst a sea of chaos. You will realize that you influence the direction of your life, and there is no need to blame the government, Mother Nature, your neighbor, boss, spouse, kids, or pet for the ills in your life.

In truth, the highest path that you can take is to be willing to work on yourself to release your inner negativity and focus on positive thoughts that empower you and create joy in your life. The more you do this, the more you contribute to your well-being and that of the collective as well.

We will all get through this turbulence that is now impacting our lives, and we will all learn and grow tremendously from the experience. The going may seem rough at times, but the more you work on yourself to discover the real you (the one for whom living in the “oasis” comes naturally), the more you will ride the crest of the huge waves of change that are upon us.
